ITEM #10
c
City of
River
March 24, 1995
Dear Phil:
Here are some of the concerns and ideas I think you might want to consider for park
shelter reservation policy review.
• What should if any should Area Rec. be charged for programs to take place in the
park?
• What happens if a group arrives and the shelter is a mess? Who is to be held
responsible? Should they be made to clean up anthers mess so they don't loose their
deposit?(One of the options that other cities do, is to have an attendant check them on
the weekends. Most other park reservations have a fee which would cover this cost
for the City. This would help us determine which group made the mess and then clean
up for the next group).
• What if Otsego or Big Lake township residents wish to reserve the shelter and have an
Elk River address? (Some of the other Cities have made a resident and a non-resident
• fee so that anybody can make reservations and enjoy the beautiful park area. This also
generates money to help improve the parks facilities-such as more shelters or walking
paths).
Current Deposit Schedule for Groups Residents in Elk River
Residents $50
Arts Council 100
School District 100
Chamber 500
Large events 500
Community Ed 100
Area Rec.
Lion's Club
Rotary
I have enclosed a fee/deposit schedule of surrounding parks for your review. If you have
any questions or comments, please let me know.
Sincerely,
• Kristy Mansfield
Receptionist/Secretary
13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
