Item# 7.b.
t y of MEMORANDUM
ik RiverTO: Park and Recreation Commission
FROM: Stephen Wensman, Planner SW
DATE: September 9, 1998
SUBJECT: Hillside Estates Eighth Addition
Overview
Rick Foster is preparing to develop Hillside Estates Eighth Addition and
needs clarification from the Park and Recreation Commission regarding their
park dedication request for the site. Staff has met with the developer and
has requested that the park dedication be as follows:
• That a 4-5 acre flat, dry, usable parcel be dedicated for park purposes
which backs up to the trail corridor (NSP power easement), with easy off
street access and does not adjoin resident's back yards.
• • That the NSP power easement be maintained as public open space for
trails.
• That a trail be laid out (grading plan) through the NSP power easement
with slopes not greater than 8%.
• That a sidewalk along 193rd Avenue be continued.
The developer is prepared to dedicate the Northern States Power Easement
as a trail corridor. However, providing a flat 4-5 acre park area is more
difficult as the site is heavily wooded and very hilly.
Attachments
• Location/Zoning Map
• Hillside Estates Eighth Addition
• Hillside Estates Ninth Addition
•
13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
