Elk River Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: FROM: Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Mark Fuchs — Electric Superintendent John Dietz — Chair Al Nadeau — Vice Chair Daryl Thompson — Trustee MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: October 21, 2014 6.1c SUBJECT: Staff Update DISCUSSION: • Had five new services. • Continue working on collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. • Continue working on changing out some of the rusty junction boxes. • Continue working on changing out fuse pads. This has been an ongoing project that had to be done due to our high fault current. • Continue rebuilding part of Industrial Park off of Co. Rd. 1. When we replace the old cable we are putting in a loop feed on the primary side. • Working on replacing a rusty switchgear cabinet and installing some primary wire and pole so we can tie feeder 71 and feeder 42 together. This work is being done at the southeast corner of HWY 169 and 197th Ave. • A squirrel got into a terminal pole on the south side of HWY 10 across from Cretex. This caused an outage for customers going west on HWY 10. We put the load on a different feeder for the evening and repaired the damaged equipment the next day. • Started working on Prestigious Woodland Hills Second Addition. They're adding thirteen lots. • Started rebuilding River Ranch in Otsego. We're replacing the rear lot line overhead with front lot line underground. • Chris Sumstad and Matt Schwartz attended the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) Overhead Lineworker School September 9 -12 in Marshall, MN. Their education reports are attached.
