City of <br /> ElkWorksession of the Elk River Planning Commission <br /> River Held at the Elk River City Hall <br /> Tuesday, September 9, 2014 <br /> Members Present: Chair Eric Johnson, Commissioners Andrew Crook,Jeremy Johnson, Mark <br /> Konietzko,Jill Larson-Vito and Thomas Petschl <br /> Members Absent: Mike Keller <br /> Staff Present: Deputy Director, Community Operations and Development Jeremy Barnhart <br /> I. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission <br /> was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Eric Johnson. <br /> 2. Consider 9/9/2014 Planning Commission Agenda <br /> The September 9, 2014 Planning Commission workshop agenda was approved. <br /> 3. Discuss Focused Area Study Rezoning <br /> Mr. Barnhart reviewed the Permitted and Conditional uses. Barnhart noted the basis for the <br /> ordinance was the FAST plan, and the concern by the property owners of zoning them out <br /> of their homes and businesses. <br /> Discussion followed regarding the former Saxon Motors site and the current Cornerstone <br /> Auto site and what impacts the implementation of the plan will have on these properties. <br /> Commissioner Konietzko questioned car sales in Office Village. It was the consensus to add <br /> car/RV marine sales. <br /> Barnhart reviewed the bulk regulations and the design standards. Commissioners, by <br /> consensus, supported the bulk regulations as outlined. It was the consensus of the <br /> commission to not have a stringent design guideline for the Station Area Village as this may <br /> impede the use of the warehousing. <br /> 4. Other Business - None <br /> 5. Adjournment <br /> The worksession meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission adjourned at 8:01 p.m. <br />
