City of <br /> Elk - Request for Action <br /> River O. <br /> To Item Number <br /> Mayor and City Council 4.5 <br /> Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> Consent August 18, 2014 Zack Carlton,Planner <br /> Item Description Reviewed by <br /> Resolution Rejecting Bids for the Twin Lakes Road Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> Irrigation Project Reviewed by <br /> Action Requested <br /> Adopt,by motion,a resolution rejecting bids for the Twin Lakes Road irrigation project. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> The bid opening for the Twin Lakes Road irrigation project was held on August 12, 2014. <br /> Bids were received from Kelly Green Irrigation and Great Northern Landscapes at$49,990.14 and <br /> $42,274.00 respectively. <br /> Preliminary bids were collected earlier this summer and ranged between$16,945 and $24,800. Bids were <br /> expected to be around$25,000, as noted in the authorization to advertise for bids presented to the City <br /> Council on July 21, 2014. <br /> The project scope included the installation of a new main line and drip irrigation system to water the trees <br /> planted earlier this year. The irrigation plans included capacity for the addition of sprays to water the turf <br /> grass,with installation planned for next year. <br /> Staff proposes to re-advertise for bids in early 2015 with the addition of the sprays for irrigating the turf. <br /> Authorization to advertise for bids will be requested at a later date. <br /> The remaining 2014 beautification budget, approximately$30,000,will be utilized for the tree <br /> replacements downtown and rolled into the 2015 budget to ensure funding for a number of planned <br /> beautification projects. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> None <br /> Attachments <br /> ■ Resolution <br /> P a w E A E U s r <br /> Template Updated 4/14 INIM UREI <br />
