ITEM # 7
Staff Report
Michele Bergh
• July 2000
Summer Programs/Registration
Sununer is going very well and things are running smoothly. Most of our programs are well underway.
We have taken 1677 registrations to date. Some of our new offerings that have been very successful this
summer are the Wiggles and Giggles in Elk River, Otsego Entertainment in the Park, and the Wacky
Wednesdays in Rogers, as well as the Pee Wee Sports in both Elk River and Rogers which haven't been
offered in the summer before.
Entertainment in the Park
These are wonderful family programs that are popular in every community they are offered in.
To date:
Location Performer #People Signing In #of Children Doing Project
Elk River MN Zoomobile 196 80
Elk River Barnyard Friends 96 43
Otsego MN Zoomobile 74 57
Otsego WonderWeavers 52 25
Rogers Will Hale 56 28
Staff
We have several people working this summer in various areas of programming and helping in the office.
• We've had a couple of staff members get injured this summer(not at work) and this has caused some
challenges for us with some of our classes but things are getting back on track and I don't anticipate any
other issues this summer.
Community Festivals
We participated in the Rockin' Rogers days and the Elk River 4th of July Festival, offering games for
children as well as face painting and tattoos at no charge.
Fall Programming
We will begin our fall planning this month. Programs will be similar to last year with gymnastics, pee
wee sports programs, open gyms, intramurals and more. The brochure will be delivered to residents on
August 30.
•
