Item # 9.C.3. ity of1 il � • k j Rover MEMORANDUM TO: Park and Recreation Commission FROM: Michele McPherson;"Director of Planning DATE: April 12, 2000 SUBJECT: Gagne Park Volunteer Appreciation Event Preparation continues on organizing the 2000 Volunteer Appreciation Event scheduled for May 7, 2000 at Gagne Park. On Friday, March 31st, Commissioner Dave Anderson, Chairperson Lana Huberty, Terry Bye and Michele McPherson walked the perimeter of Gagne Park to observe and determine what tasks need to be completed during the volunteer event. There are a number of trash items which can be removed from the park, as well as a number of junk vehicles with expired tabs. It was decided that the east property line should be re-verified, as it was difficult to identify the straightness of the easterly property line. Commissioner Dave Anderson suggested that efforts be focused on installing boundary signs and some type of fence to secure the north and easterly borders of the park. Chairperson Lana Huberty suggested that the Commission discuss relocating the dirt road extension of Waco Street to the east to allow more direct access to the residential lots that are using this road extension for access. A preliminary concept plan developed by Planner, Steve Wensman, indicating this realigned road, will be available at the meeting for the Commission's review. Staff will notify the owners of the junk vehicles to have them removed prior to May 7th, or that they will be removed on May 7th by a towing company. Attached please find the invitation and the list of invitees for your review.
