Minutes of the Sherburne/Wright County Cable Commission <br /> Thursday, October 3, 2013, 1:00 p.m. <br /> Buffalo City Hall <br /> Present: Chair Luke Fischer,Vice Chair Tina Allard, and Commissioners Mert Auger, <br /> Lee Ann Yager, Don Levens, Cathy Shuman, and Gina Wolbeck. <br /> Absent: Commissioners Terry Boese, Nancy Carswell, and Phil Kern. <br /> Also present: Technology Consultant Bill Bruce, Attorney Bob Vose, and Video Production <br /> Coordinator Mark Davis. <br /> 1. Call to Order <br /> Chair Luke Fischer called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br /> 2. Approval of Minutes - March 28, 2013 <br /> Commissioner Levens motioned to approve the March 28, 2013 Minutes. Seconded by <br /> Vice Chair Allard, unanimous ayes, motion carried. <br /> 3. Treasurer's Report <br /> Mert Auger presented the financial statements as outlined in the staff report. Auger also <br /> recommended reimbursing cities for cable expenses equal to the last franchise fee payment. <br /> Commissioner Shuman motioned to approve the Financial Statements as presented <br /> and to authorize a reimbursement to member cities for cable expenses equal to the last <br /> franchise fee payment. Seconded by Commissioner Levens, unanimous ayes, motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4. Attorney's Report <br /> Commission Attorney Bob Vose provided an update on HD upgrade costs. Commission <br /> Members discussed the need to contact Charter Communications to discuss upgrade <br /> options. Vose provided an update on Charter Communications organizational changes and <br /> informed the Commission that the annual notice has been issued to Charter and that <br /> Leanne Herrera has been designated as the Commissions cable representative. Vose also <br /> discussed state wide franchising that could be pushed this legislative session. <br /> 5. Equipment Report <br /> Bill Bruce presented the equipment report. Bruce also discussed the Apple i-pad classes <br /> conducted in member cities, and the preliminary SDTV/HD equipment replacement plan. <br /> Bruce also asked for discussion on the layout and content of the SWTV website. Fisher <br /> discussed his concern that the information on the site is more catered to volunteers than to <br /> the general public interested in the Cable Commission. Fisher asked Commission members <br /> who they want the target audience to be, and what information we are trying to convey. <br /> Members discussed the need to include information on the Commission as well as <br /> volunteers. Bruce noted that he will be working on both pages and will be looking for <br /> feedback on what type of information members would like to see on both pages. <br />
