This <br /> equipment will replace aging equipment within the fleet. <br /> The plow truck will replace a 1987 Ford L8000 with significant use and mileage. The Roadside mowing <br /> unit will replace a 1999 John Deere 6410 tractor with 4,000 hours. We will also install the same style of <br /> side boom mower. <br /> The plow truck and equipment is on state contract for $234,744.85. Even with the state pricing, <br /> significant cost increases have occurred recently as manufacturers are required to comply with new <br /> emission control standards. Trucks are now required to install diesel exhaust fluid tanks to inject fluid in <br /> the exhaust system to super-burn excess particulate matter prior to exhausting from vehicle. <br /> The tractor is not on state contract. Two quotes were received from equipment vendors per the city <br /> Purchasing Policy. <br /> ■ 2013 New Holland T6-175 from Trueman Welters, 175 hours, auto shift transmission, <br /> quoted price of$79,500. <br /> ■ 2012 John Deere 6430 Premium from Scharber's, 445 hours, 24/24 auto quad transmission, <br /> quoted price of$70,000. <br /> The 2013 22 foot Diamond mower attachment is on the state contract. The contract price is $31,092. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> The total cost of the equipment with accessories and attachments is $335,826.85,less trade in value of <br /> $28,000 for the current mower/tractor the net cost is $307,836.85. The Equipment Replacement Fund <br /> budget for this equipment was estimated at$282,750. The difference will be made up from a$50,000 <br /> savings from a chipper purchase that will be moved from 2015 to 2020 to offset the purchase amount <br /> and overall savings from other purchases in the 2014 Equipment Replacement Fund. <br /> Attachments <br /> ■ 2014 Equipment Purchases Spreadsheet <br /> P a w E R E U 6 Y <br /> NaA f RE] <br />
