This applies to all Food Service Establishments (FSEs) and Food <br /> Manufacturer/Processer Establishments (FM/Ps) within the city limits and urban service area. <br /> Per the National Pretreatment Program,nondomestic dischargers must comply with pretreatment <br /> standards to ensure that the goals of the Clean Water Act (CWA) are attained. The objectives include: <br /> a. Prevent the introduction of pollutants into a publically-owned treatment works (POTW) that <br /> will interfere with the operation of the POTW,including interference with its use or disposal of <br /> municipal sludge. <br /> b. Prevent the introduction of pollutants into a POTW that will pass through the treatment works <br /> or otherwise be incompatible with such works. <br /> c. Improve opportunities to recycle and reclaim municipal and industrial wastewaters and sludge. <br /> The presentation provides an introduction and overview of the program and identifies responsibilities of <br /> food service establishments and the city.
