E cyor
. .r`
Item # 9.C.I.
River
MEMORANDUM
TO: Park and Recreation Commission
FROM: Michele McPherson,Director of Planning
DATE: November 13, 2002
SUBJECT: Consider Park Dedication Fees for 2003
Each year the Park and Recreation Commission considers park dedication fees for
residential, commercial and industrial properties. The current fees are as follows:
• Residential - $1,540 per lot
• Commercial - $3,000 per acre
• Industrial - $2,000 per acre
In the past several years, the Commission has recommended to the City Council an increase
of 5% for the residential park dedication fees. A 5%increase for 2003 would increase the
cost to $1,617 per residential lot or dwelling unit. Staff would recommend, for ease of
accounting, that this be reduced to$1,615 to the keep the numbers"round"in nature. Staff
recommends that the commercial and industrial rates be maintained at their current levels as
there is very little commercial or industrial activity occurring at this time.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Park and Recreation Commission recommend an increase in the
residential park dedication fees from $1,540 to $1,615 per lot.
S:\PLANNING\MICHMC\PARKNREC\2003 park dedication.doc
