Item #9.A.3. <br /> City of <br /> Elk <br /> River <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Park and Recreatio Commission <br /> FROM: Michele McPherson,Director of Planning <br /> DATE: May 14, 2003 <br /> SUBJECT: Request for Use of Lions Park by Elk River High School <br /> Attachments <br /> • Park Use Application <br /> Request <br /> City Recreation has received a park use request for the use of Lions Park on June 3, 2003 for <br /> a choral program by Elk River High School. It is anticipated that over 400 people will attend <br /> this event. <br /> The City and School District have an agreement that rental fees or deposits will not be <br /> charged to each organization, however,actual costs can be charged for the use of a facility. <br /> Due to the large number of attendees at this program, staff recommends that the School <br /> District have attendees to the event park in the F igh School parking lot and that Police <br /> Reserves be utilized to direct traffic and to ensure that pedestrians cross School Street in a <br /> safe manner. The Lions Park parking lot would be used for delivery of equipment for the <br /> program. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Staff recommends that the Park and Recreation Commission approve the request for the use <br /> of Lions for an Elk River High School choral program with the following conditions: <br /> 1. No fee or deposit will be required. <br /> 2. Attendees will park at the Elk River High School parking lot and Police Reserves will be <br /> used to direct traffic.
