The following articles are worth your time to review. <br /> 1.) Star Tribune article, "Water deal with cities may dry up." <br /> 2.) Worldwide Independent Power article, "The case for natural-gas-fueled <br /> distributed power generation." <br /> 3.) Star Tribune article, "Xcel to pay for its failures." <br /> 4.) Star Tribune article, "Germany dismantles first of its 19 nuclear power <br /> stations." It will be interesting to see what type of generation will replace <br /> these nuclear plants. <br /> 5.) The Sun article, "Farming Wind In Western Md." <br /> 6.) Transmission& Distribution article, "Fade to Blackout." <br /> 7.) Pioneer Press article, "Cities considering complex leasing deals." Keep an <br /> eye on this issue. <br /> Normally this time of year MMUA makes a presentation at our commission meeting <br /> concerning utility issues. This year they are holding regional meetings. A regional <br /> meeting will be held in Elk River at the LFG Environmental Learning Center on January <br /> 22, 2004, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. <br /> Our annual wire bid will be presented to this commission at the January meeting for <br /> award. You may see the bid advertising in the paper in December. <br /> The utility offices will be closed December 24th and 25`h, and January 1, 2004 due to the <br /> Holidays.
