RESOLUTION No. 13-10 <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> A RESOLUTION OF BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ELK RIVER <br /> MUNICIPAL UTILITIES RECOGNIZING NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE <br /> WEEK, OCTOBER 6-12 <br /> WHEREAS, Elk River Municipal Utilities (ERMU)provides electric and water utility <br /> services within the City of Elk River, the City of Otsego, the City of Dayton, and Big <br /> Lake Township; and <br /> WHEREAS, ERMU provides security system sales and services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the ERMU mission statement specifies: "To provide our customers with <br /> safe, reliable, cost effective and quality long term electric and water utility service. To <br /> communicate and educate our customers in the use of utility services, programs, policies, <br /> and future plans. These products and services will be provided in an environmentally and <br /> financially responsible manner"; and <br /> WHEREAS, providing excellent customer service is an essential component of <br /> successfully operating in accordance with the ERMU mission statement; and <br /> WHEREAS, providing excellent customer service is an expectation of ERMU's <br /> customers; and <br /> WHEREAS, by Proclamation 6485 on October 8, 1992, President George Bush <br /> proclaimed the first week of October 1992 as "National Customer Service Week; and <br /> WHEREAS, by President Bush noted in his proclamation "A businesses [sic] will do a <br /> better job of providing high quality goods and services by listening to its employees and <br /> by empowering them with opportunities to make a difference. Customer service <br /> professionals work in the front lines where a firm meets its customers; where supply <br /> meets demand. With responsive policies and procedures and with simple courtesy, <br /> customer service professionals can go a long way toward ensuring customer <br /> satisfaction..."; and <br /> WHEREAS, National Customer Service Week is still recognized as a way to celebrate <br /> and"display a strong commitment to customer satisfaction"; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that ERMU will continue to work to bring <br /> lower-cost, safe, reliable electricity, water, and security system services to community <br /> homes and businesses just as it has since the utility was created; and <br />
