Please see the attached
agenda, minutes and staff report.
STAFF UPDATES
I. COUNCIL LIAISON POLICY
Cal Portner, City Administrator will be in attendance to discuss the Council Liaison
Policy.
2. PLANNING COMMISSION ITEMS
No items on the Planning Commission agenda for discussion.
3. WATER TOWER FUNDRAISING PLAN
Please see the attached memo regarding the work that has been done for the Jackson
Street Water Tower Restoration Project. The HPC needs to determine a
comprehensive plan for fundraising for the restoration. The Water Tower is
deteriorating and the costs to restore it will only get more expensive. Please bring your
thoughts and ideas. Please keep in mind that the fundraising may be better done
through another agency or a 501 c3 be created for this purpose since the City has
regulations on certain fundraising options.
4. THE 33RD ANNUAL STATEWIDE HISTORIC PRESERVATION
CONFERENCE
The Minnesota Historical Society (MHS) recently mailed out the conference information
for the 33rd Annual Statewide Historic Preservation Conference scheduled for
September 12-23, 2013 in Lanesboro. The HPC is required to have one commissioner
and staff member attend the conference each year. Staff will be applying for a
scholarship to cover the costs of the conference once it is made available. Staff will
need to know who is planning to attend in order to complete the scholarship.
rehEihi
C:\Users\dhuebner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.0utlook\Q7RBTRKC\Memo Format 7 18 13.docx
