Week, May 24 - June 2 <br /> <br />Honorable Stephanie Klinzing <br />City of Elk River <br />13065 Orono Parkxvay <br />Elk River, NfN 55330 <br /> <br />Dear Honorable Stephanie Klmzing, <br /> <br />Minnesota's largest-ever education and law enforcement campaign - the ~gafe ¢Y oCober May Mobilization - will <br />occur May 24 through June 2. During this period, the Elk River Police Department will conduct enhanced <br />enforcement shifts to educate our community about the importance of weam~g seat belts. This period provides <br />an excellent opportunity for Elk River to demonstrate its support in preventing deaths and injuries in traffic <br />crashes. Last year, nearly 600 Nfinnesotans died on our roads and 10 alone died in Sherburne County. <br /> <br />Elk River Police Department and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety would be honored if the Elk <br />River City Council would sponsor an official proclamation/resolution to recogmze "Buckle Up Elk River!" <br />Week, May 25 -June 2. Your proclamation/resolution would greatly help our effort to save lives. I have <br />enclosed a sample proclamation/resolution for your use. <br /> <br />If you or the CiD' Council have any questions concerning our request, the proclamation/resolution or "Buckle <br />Up Elk River!"
