Historically, the ice
rates are moderately priced as compared to neighboring arenas. Ice rates were set at$180/hour for the
past two seasons. Increases are typically every two years and less than 3%. When increases are pushed
out,we have typically had a larger make up of 6% after the third year. Small increases every two years
seem to be more accepted rather than larger increases over a longer period of time.
The two main factors considered for setting ice rates are competitor's rates including ice agreements with
set rates. We also consider operating expenditures and planned capital improvements. Since the debt
service was paid off in 2011 the arena has shown net gains, however when factoring in upcoming capital
costs, the profits are not sufficient to cover needed repairs or replacements.
ATTACHMENTS
• Neighboring Arena's Hourly Ice rates
• Customer Usage Stats
POIEAEI II /
CAlisers\rczech\Desktop\ARENAMGR\Arena Commission\2013\April Commission Packet\(5) Action Requested Ice NATURE
Rates.doex ■■ .K`IR`
