It is requested that the City Council join <br />the HRA at this meeting and accordingly, call a special City Council meeting for this date and <br />time. This 5 p.m. meeting is prior to the 6 p.m. regular City Council meeting on Monday, <br />June 24. <br /> <br />The purpose of the joint meeting is to have the Council hear the discussion and <br />recommendation on the developers and development proposals that xvere submitted for work <br />in the downtown. Additionally, the city has received a request for an apartment project and a <br />discussion needs to take place (and direction given to staff) regarding if affordable housing <br />should be a component of this apartment proposal. Any type of affordable housing <br />component will require city participation although there are various forms of participation that <br />can be taken by the city. Direction to pursue affordable housing or not is being requested on <br />June 24 and if staff receives a positive response from the HRA and City Council then the <br />details on financing options will be presented at a later date. <br /> <br /> <br />
