IN <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Review proposed plan and provide staff direction. <br />A,CKGROUND/ ISCUSSION <br />The deadline to submit applications for the Ward 1 council seat vacancy was Tuesday, January 15, 2013. <br />We have received applications from five candidates. <br />• Brett Dexheimer <br />• Nick Freitag <br />• Barbara Olsen <br />• Bernard Rupert <br />• Stewart Wilson <br />One of the candidates will be out of town from January 18 -27, so we will need to push the proposed <br />timeline back. <br />The following timeline is proposed: <br />DATE <br />Wednesday, January 23 <br />Tuesday, February 5 <br />Saturday, February 9 <br />Monday, February 11 <br />Monday, February 18 <br />ACTION <br />Mail postcards to Ward 1 residents <br />Council interviews candidates <br />Citizen Forum <br />Council selects appointee <br />Official appointment and swearing <br />Postcard <br />If the proposed timeline is acceptable to the council, the postcard, mailed this week, will inform Ward 1 <br />residents that a Candidate Forum will take place beginning at 1 p.m., on Saturday, February 9.
