Statute requires that <br />resolutions for donations are adopted by a 2/3 majority vote. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />For the past two years, the Trout Brook Farms Homeowners Association has been discussing <br />improvements with monetary donations that they would like to make to the Trott Brook Farms Park. On <br />February 9, the Homeowners Association President, Sean Theisen, met with Rodney Schreifels and <br />Michael Hecker to discuss the possibility of installing afull-size basketball court. <br />After some discussion at the park site between city staff and the association board, it was decided to get <br />estimates for a full size 60'X94' basketball court, with two basketball standards, green surface with white <br />lines painted for a full size court, hopscotch, and foursquare. There was also discussion to get quotes for <br />lighting, fencing, and a drinking fountain. <br />Parks Supervisor Rodney Schreifels received. three quotes from proven contractors: Court Surfaces and <br />Repair Inc., Surface Pro, and Upper Midwest Athletic Construction. All three quotes where given the <br />exact same requirements. These quotes include the contractor doing all work, which is complete <br />excavation of existing clay soil, proper sub base and drainage, asphalt, green surface with lines, 125' of <br />black fencing, and installing the basketball standards. The quotes came in as follows: <br />Court Surfaces and Repair Inc. - $41,491.00 <br />Surface Pro - $47,447.00 <br />Upper Midwest Athletic Construction - $46,303.00 <br />These quotes include the $6,346 cost of installing two high quality Bison basketball standards. <br />Rodney obtained two quotes for lighting the basketball court from two local Elk River electrical <br />contractors: <br />Hipsag Electric - $16,650.00 includes six light fixtures <br />Rike-Lee Electric - $16,525.00 includes four light fixtures <br />PerEwE® er <br />NA~'UI~~ <br />
