REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />TO ITEM NUMBER <br />Ma or and Ci Council 4.3 <br />AGENDA SECTION MEETING DATE PREPARED BY <br />Consent Aril 16, 2012 erem Barnhart, Plannin Mana er <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION REVIEWED BY <br />Authorization to Rezone Barrington Square and Barrington Cal Portner, Ci Administrator <br />Plaza Planned Unit Developments REVIEWED BY <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Staff is requesting authorization to pursue rezoning the entire Barrington Square and Barrington Place <br />Planned Unit Developments (PUD). <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />Barrington Place (1980) and Barrington Square (1986) were some of the earliest PUD's created in Elk <br />River. <br />Barrington place allows the following uses: <br />1. Principle and conditional uses in the C-1, G2, and C-3 zoning districts, except for: <br />a. Multifamily dwellings <br />b. Parking ramps (not defined) <br />c. Taverns (not defined, assume on-sale liquor establishments) <br />d. Motor vehicle service stations servicing more than 2 vehicles <br />e. Auto repair shops <br />£ Storage facilities (not defined, assume ministorage) <br />g. Drive in theaters (not defined) <br />h. Outdoor amusement centers (commercial recreation, outdoor) <br />2. All conditional uses in the R-4 (eg: outpatient health care, institutional uses, government <br />offices, mini-storage, zero lot line development), and principle uses in the R-3 and R-4 <br />zoning district. <br />Barrington Square allows off: <br />1. Retail establishments <br />2. Personal service <br />3. Professional and business offices <br />4. Financial institutions <br />5. Dental and medical clinics <br />6. Two family dwellings <br />7.
