ITEM ~ 5.1. <br />ver <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Economic Development Authority ~} <br />FROM: Heidi Steinmetz, Assistant Director of Economic Development '1'~ <br />DATE: May 8, 2006 <br />SUBJECT: Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan -Consider EDA Marketing <br />Committee Member Appointments <br />Background <br />The seven marketing strategies highlighted in staff's Sttategic Industrial Marketing reports <br />have been utilized since 2002 and axe based on the 2002-2004 Strategic Industrial Marketing <br />Action Plan. In January, an update of the plan was identified by the EDA as one of its <br />priority goals and projects fox 2006. <br />Plan Background <br />The first Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan was the 2000-2002 Plan, developed by Duckox <br />& Associates, the EDA Marketing Committee and Economic Development staff. To serve <br />as an update to the Plan, the 2000-2002 Assessment and 2002-2004 Action Plan was also <br />developed by Duckox & Associates the EDA Marketing Committee and Economic <br />Development staff. <br />Issue <br />On May 15th, the EDA Marketing Committee will be reviewing proposals from consultants <br />who wish to facilitate the update of the plan. The Marketing Committee's recommendation <br />will be presented to the EDA at its June 12`h meeting. <br />At its January Annual Business meeting, the EDA re-appointed the following members to <br />the 2006 EDA Marketing Committee: <br />Jim Barthel, Elk River Machine <br />Chris Cadson, Spoxtech <br />Gary Santwixe, Rivers Crossing <br />Jim Simpson, The Bank of Elk River <br />Daryl Thompson, MinuteMan Press <br />Dan Tveite, EDA representative <br />Mark Uxista, Coldwell Banker Vision <br />
