MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION <br />• HELD AT ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br />TUESDAY, MAY 10, 201 I <br />Members Present: Chair Ives, Commissioners Anderson, Johnson, Lemke, Scott and Westberg <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Bell <br />Staff Present: JeremyBarnhart, Planning Manager; Debbie Huebner, Recording Secretary <br />Call Meeting To Order <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission <br />was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Ives. <br />2. Consider 5/ 10/ 11 Planning Commission Agenda <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER AONDERSON AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER LEMKE TO APPROVE THE MAY 10, 2011 PLANNING <br />COMMISSION AGENDA. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />3. Consider 4/ 12/ 11 Planning Commission Minutes <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER JOHNSON AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER ANDERSON TO APPROVE THE APRIL 12, 2011 <br />MINUTES. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />4. Planning Commission Representative to Attend City Council Meeting <br />Commissioner Scott will attend the Apri118, 2011 City Council meeting. <br />5.1. Request by Robert McDonald for Site Plan Approval for Class I Restaurant (Pizza Ranch, <br />19141 Freeport Street, Public Hearing -Case NO. SP 11-02 <br />Mr. Barnhart reviewed the staff report to the Planning Conunission on this matter. He <br />noted that the proposed use is permitted in the C3 zoning district, but that the property is <br />zoned PUD which requires site plan approval bythe Planning Commission and City <br />Council. He discussed the proposed signage and landscaping issues. <br />Chair Ives opened the public hearing. There being no one to speakto this issue, Chair Ives <br />closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioners Anderson and Westberg had questions regarding the proposed signage. Mr. <br />Barnhart responded. Commissioner Anderson asked if the applicant was comfortable <br />working with staff on signage.
