ITEM 7 <br />~~..i~e~ <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Housing and Redevelopment Authority <br />FROM: Annie Deckert, Market and Business Development <br />Administrator <br />DATE: 2 May 201 I <br />SUBJECT: Update on branding and marketing strategy -presentation <br />At the December 13th Elk River Economic Development Authority meeting, the EDA <br />authorized staff to move forward with a branding and marketing strategy begin the RFP process <br />and form a branding subcommittee to help facilitate and guide the Citybranding and marketing <br />process until completion. A Citywide branding campaign is an action step and will support the <br />Goals that support the Vision, approved bythe Elk River City Council at the October 18~' <br />meeting. 'This process has been identified as a priority of the EDA and City Council. <br />A branding subcommittee of sixteen people comprised of City staff and key community leaders to <br />represent different stakeholders in the community has been created and has been diligently <br />working the past four months to kick off this project. Branding consultant chandlerthinks, was in <br />Elk River April 27-29 to begin market research for this project which included a community tour, <br />one on one interviews with stakeholders, focus groups and mystery shops.
