This <br />request was discussed during the 2011 budget review of the equipment replacement fund. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />The Street Department is seeking approval to move forward with the purchase of a new one-ton truck. <br />The new truck will be replacing a 1998 GMC one-ton truck that is budgeted for replacement in 2011. <br />The 1998 GMC one-ton truck willbe auctioned off. The new truck will be utilized in Street Department <br />operations as well as snow plowing operations in the winter. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The total amount budgeted for this replacement in the equipment replacement fund is $73,000, which <br />includes cab/chassis and all truck components. The cab/chassis (2011 Dodge 5500) will be purchased <br />off the state contract from Nelson Auto Center for $40,788.
