MEMORANDUM TO: Ice Arena Commission, Members FROM: Rich Czech, Arena Manager DATE: January 7, 2011 SUBJECT: Agenda Memo -January 12, 2010 5. Review Architects proposals for Arena expansion Attached are proposals from three Architects, H.T.G. Architects, 292 Design Group, and S.J.A. Architects. All three companies' references are quite impressive and include projects of our magnitude and beyond. In each of their proposals the three companies include a design process, the design process gives us the opportunity to express our needs and wants and allows us an opportunity to review rough drawings and make changes before the conceptual designs are drawn. During the design process I believe it will be very critical to work diligently with the Architect so that the outcome of conceptual design gives us a building that operates efficiently and truly fits the needs for our customers now and in future yeaxs. . Once the conceptual designs are completed a cost estimation of the project will be developed and a final report along with the cost estimations will be presented to the Commission. You will notice that there is a flux in costs between each Architect; however there are some offerings that each one of the firms has that may be beneficial to the project that maybe very helpful to the project as it progresses. As I said in the first paragraph, each Architect firm has some impressive (Arena) projects that they have been involved with. After reviewing each one of their portfolios I believe that any of these companies would work well for the Arena Expansion.
