Item # 6. <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Parks and Recreation Commission <br />FROM: Michele Bergh, Recreation Manager <br />DATE: October 6, 2005 <br />SUBJECT: Staff Report <br />Hot Topic(s) of the Month <br />We are gearing up for a Dodgeball Tournament and League. Ross has been hard at work on <br />this program and we've had a wonderful response. It is a classic game making a comeback <br />with both children and adults. <br />We are also in the process of ordering Discs for the Disc Golf game and will have kits <br />available for use at the front counter whenever we are open. This game can be played year- <br />round. We have a lot of middle and high school youth hanging around the building and <br />thought this might be a great activity to keep them busy. <br />September Programs <br />Programs running in the month of September include Yoga, Yogilates, Cardio Sculpt <br />Xpress, Kickboxing Circuit, 50/50, Step, Girl Power, Firearm Safety, BLAST, Parent and <br />Tot Tumbling, Preschool Tumbling, Parent and Tot Open Playtime, Cheer America, Young <br />Americans Self Defense, Eager Elks Soccer, Eager Elks Sports Sampler, Kids Cardio, Arena <br />Dance, Women's Volleyball, and Co Rec Volleyball. <br />Facility Use <br />We reserved 230 hours of ball field use, 65 hours of shelter use, 59 hours of indoor facility <br />use, and 198 hours of soccer field use for the month of September. <br />Wellness Committee <br />We are taking sign ups for donating blood on the 28`h of October. This is our third annual <br />blood drive. <br />
