Item # 6. <br />Ver MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Parks and Recreation Commission <br />FROM: Michele Bergh, Recreation Manager <br />DATE: February 3, 2005 <br />SUBJECT: Staff Report <br />January Programs <br />Adult fitness classes - 8 classes per week, Weight Loss Success workshops, Parent and Tot <br />Tumbling, Preschool Tumbling, Parent and Tot Open Playtime, Eager Elks Soccer, Eager <br />Elks Basketball, Eager Elks Parent/Child Yoga, Eager Elks Kids Kardio, Eager Elks Yoga, <br />Eager Elks Tumbling, Girl Power, Babysitting class, Parent's Night Out, Cheer America, <br />Young Americans Self Defense, Team Ingemar, Soccer Camp, Family Skating Event, <br />Downhill Ski and Snowboard Trips, Open Gyms, and Warming House/Ice Rinks. <br />Syecial Marketing Efforts <br />We will be participating in the Business Expo again this year and look forward to this <br />marketing oppomi:uty. There are a lot of people that go through and it's a great way to <br />promote our department and programs. <br />Facility Use <br />We scheduled approximately 185 hours of facility use in January. 56 of this was at Lions <br />Park Center, 6 hours was at the Barn, 52 hours took place at the Handke East Hockey Rink, <br />and the remainder occurred at various other city facilities. <br />Wellness Committee <br />We are once again offering a Healthy Living Challenge to city employees. The challenge <br />begins February 7`h and runs for six weeks. It covers topics such as eating 5 servings of <br />fruits and vegetables, exercising, taking time out to relax and more. <br />We have also planned the year's activities and held a kickoff for city employees February 1". <br />
