The cooler
weather allowed for some rinks to open on December 12th which was well received by the
public. The City maintains nine outdoor rinks throughout Elk River. Two of these rinks
have warming houses including Lions Park and Handke stadium. Both of these parks offer
skating/hockey rinks as well as sledding hills. The East hockey rink at Handke stadium can
be rented by groups through the Parks and Recreation office.
December Programs
• Fall Co-Rec Volleyball
• Fall Women's Volleyball
• Men's 5 on 5 Basketball
• Parent and Tot Tumbling
• Preschool Tumbling
• Jump Jive-Exhale with Kids
Cardio
• Parent and Tot Open Playtime
~ecial Marketing Efforts
• Family Fire and Ice Festival
• Open Gym
• Rink Rat Hockey
• Creative Crop
• Intramural Basketball
• Adult Softball
• Eager Elks-All Sorts of Sports
• Eager Elks Soccer
• Holiday Reindeer Plate
• Northstar Express to the
Holidazzle Parade
• Open Gym
• Winter Women's Volleyball
League
• Winter Co-Rec Volleyball
• Northstar Express to the
Holidazzle Parade
• Holiday Downtown Event
N:\Depattments\Parks and Recreation\Retteation\2011 PRC Packets\O1-12-11 PRC Packet\AllMaoagcrs Report - January.doc
