City of Elk -~-~ River MEMORANDUM TO: Economic Development Authority FROM: Catherine Mehelich, Director of Economic Development DATE: January 10, 2011 SUBJECT: Consider Commissioner Appointments/Assignments In the past the EDA has maintained two standing committees, Finance Committee and Industrial Marketing Committee, who meet on an as-needed basis. The Finance Committee is actively utilized for review and recommendation of the Economic Development Micro Loan applications and policy amendments to the EDA. Finance Committee Nate Ovall (The Bank of Elk River representative) Cliff Lundberg (Business representative) Chris Carlson (Business representative) Chad Vitzhum (First National Bank of Elk River representative) Larry Toth (HRA representative) Dan Tviete (EDA representative) Paul Motin (EDA representative) The Industrial Marketing Committee was utilized specifically for updates of the Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan. The committee has been `in-active' since 2006 when the 2007-2009 Industrial Marketing Plan was last updated. Staff recommends the EDA dissolve the Industrial Marketing Committee due to the potentially changing nature of EDA marketing activities as a result of the current Branding and Marketing Process.
