ITEM DESCRIPTION REVIEWED B~/ Transportation Enhancement Resolution of Support Lori ohnson, Ci Administrator REVIEWED BY ACTION REQUESTED Adopt the attached resolution supporting and agreeing to maintain the improvements installed as part of the Eastern Area Trail and Mobility Improvement project. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION As approved and directed at the October 18, 2010 City Council meeting, we axe working on the completion of the Application for Transportation Enhancement funding for the above referenced project. The application requires the attached resolution be adopted by the sponsoring agency. The resolution states the following: The City of Elk River act as sponsoring agency fox a "Transportation Enhancements" project identified as the `Eastern Area Trail and Mobility Improvements' and acknowledges herewith that it is willing to be the project sponsor, knowing full well that such sponsorship includes a willingness to secure and guarantee the local share of costs associated with this project and responsibility for seeing this project through to its completion, with compliance of all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Furthermore, the Ciry Engineer is hereby authorized to act as agent on behalf of The City of Elk River for this project. As the Project Sponsor, the City of Elk River, hereby agrees to assume full responsibility fox assuring the operation and maintenance of property and facilities related to the aforementioned transportation enhancement project will be faithfully executed by the appropriate responsible parties.
