ELK RIVER LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES MARCH 19, 1996 Board Members: Murray McNair present Linda Ritchie present Elly Kretsch present Mary Keifenheim present Eleanor Holm present Also Present: Mick Stoffers, Librarian Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Chair Murray McNair. Minutes of the February 20, 1996 meeting were approved as presented. There was no correspondence. Bills were approved for the month of February. Librarian's Report: Mick presented the annual report to the City Council on Monday, March 18, 1996. Board members in attendance were Murray, Eleanor, Elly and Linda. Murray was also able to inform the Council about the need for a new roof on the old portion of the library. Mick notified Builders Sound & Security by fax and by mail that the Library no longer required their service. A thirty day notice to cancel was required. Their representative became threatening. Mick spoke to the Elk River Utility Representative and Tom Zerwas regarding claims made by the BS&S representative. The Elk River Utilities rep will take pictures of the system as it is and then remove BS&S equipment and have it boxed and ready for the BS&S rep when he arrives. Mick received another bill ($1,400) for the heating coil that froze and was replaced just after the 1 year warranty expired. Mick faxed the bill to Rick Wessling and there has been no response. Mick received a call from Pneumatic Controls regarding $275 not paid. Mick said we are waiting for air conditioning season to see if the motorized damper works. At that time we will send the 10% we have held back. This seemed to be okay with the caller. Cliff Skogstad from the city is to come by and inspect the roof before a request for bids is made. The roof appears to need a need membrane and better support to eliminate ponding. Costs will likely be $24,000-$28,000.
