ELK RIVER LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES <br />October 15, 1996 <br />Board Members: <br />Murray McNair present <br />Linda Ritchie present <br />Elly Kretsch present <br />Mary Keifenheim present <br />Eleanor Holm present <br />Also present: Mick Stoffers, Librarian; Verne Oleksowicz, GRRL <br />Meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Chair Murray McNair. <br />There was no meeting in September as there was no quorum. <br />Mary moved approval of the August 20, 1996 meeting as presented. <br />Linda seconded. All in favor. <br />There was no correspondence. suggestion box. <br />Elly moved approval of the September and October bill lists. <br />Mary seconded. All in favor. <br />Librarian's Report: <br />Mick has not heard back from Elk River Utilities regarding the <br />ordering of new heads for the lights in the parking lot. Murray <br />will call Elk River Utilities and follow up on this. <br />Mick is still waiting for Weatherly Electric to fix the outside <br />sign. Only half the sign lights up. <br />The mini blinds have been installed in the staff lounge. They <br />are very nice and very much appreciated by staff. <br />The new blinds for the community room have not been installed. <br />Mick will check on the cost and the possiblity of cutting down <br />the existing blinds and using them in the reading area on the <br />east side of the library. The Friends of the Library are working <br />on curtains for the bottom of the windows in the community <br />room. <br />The roofing project is underway and is to take about two weeks. <br />So far the project has been noisy and smelly. There have been <br />few complaints. <br />Cliff Skogstad with the city has reviewed our current furnace <br />maintenance contract with York. He suggested we switch to B & D <br />Plumbing & Heating of St. Michael. They will do fall and <br />spring maintenance, including changing of filters, for $1,200 <br />
