ELK RIVER LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES <br />February 24, 1998 <br />Board Members: <br />Linda Ritchie, Chair present <br />Elly Kretsch, Vice Chair present <br />Eleanor Holm, Secretary present <br />Murray McNair present <br />Robert Jones present <br />Also present: Mick Stoffers, Librarian-Verne Oleksowicz,GRRL <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 by Chair Ritchie. <br />There was no correspondence. <br />Suggestion box items as follows: more free children's books, <br />more Internet stations and more war movies. <br />Discussion of bills and budget updates for January was held <br />and acceptance moved by Eleanor and seconded by Elly. All in favor. <br />Mick presented the bills for 3 new arms and 3 new adaptors <br />($383.40) and light bulbs X61.47). These were for the parking <br />lot lights; the Board thanks Elk River Utilities for installing <br />them. Linda made the motion, seconded by Murray to authorize <br />payment of these bills. All in favor. <br />Librarians Report: <br />Old Business: <br />Memorial Plaque - The memorial plaque has been ordered. <br />It will be 16" x 20" with black lettering on brass plates. <br />It will read "In appreciation for significant contributions to <br />the Elk River Public Library." <br />Annual Report - No date has been set for a meeting <br />with the City Council. <br />ADA Building issues - The main concerns are: <br />Reducing the tension of the main entrance door--Mick will call <br />the city regarding this matter. <br />Mick will contact the appropriate person in regards to installing <br />equipment for automatic door. <br />Signage for library areas (braille)--Mick will investigate this. <br />Table heights--they will be measured and corrected if necessary. <br />
