ELK RIVER LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES <br />June 26, 2001 <br />Eleanor Holm, Chair Present <br />Leslie Anderson, Vice Chair Present <br />Geraldine Graham, Secretary Absent <br />Mike Hangaard Absent, <br />Also present: Vern Oleksowicz, GRRL <br />Joanne Jacobs, New Board Member appointed 6-25-01 <br />Meeting was called to order by Chair Eleanor Holm. <br />It was determined that there was a quorum with new member Jacobs in attendance. J. Jacobs was appointed <br />on 6-25-01 for a three year term. <br />The agenda was adopted. <br />Action: Minutes for March and A4ey were tabled until the next meeting. There were no minutes for the month <br />~~4pri because the meeting was not conducted due to lack of a quorum. Therefore the minutes for March were <br />~ r~,'~not a opted. Gerafdine-Earaham,. Secretary,- was absent in June and had -not-provided-mimsCe`s "~orMay in <br />advance of the meeting:- $ecause J. Jacobs was newly appointed, it was felt that she was not in a position to <br />adopt the minutes from previous meetings. <br />Correspondence: None <br />Suggestion Box: None <br />Treasurer's Report: <br />E. Holm reported that she and Librarian M. Stoffers met with Pat Klaers, City Administrator and Lori Johnson <br />to discuss the budget. Holm reports the meeting went well; M. Stoffers will report more fully at a future board <br />meeting. <br />E. Holm moved that the May report be accepted, seconded by L. Anderson. Approved unanimously. <br />Old Business: <br />PAC furniture costs will be discussed at a future meeting. <br />New Business: <br />~Olotion detectors will be installed. Board members discussed the deterrent factor for further vandalism. Though <br />the lights cannot prevent vandalism, they serve as a warning that the library is being watched more carefully. <br />,/Ys of this date, the draperies have not been installed. <br />Members present welcomed Joanne Jacobs. We are very pleased to have a new member and it is anticipated <br />that we will be able to make a quorum on a regular basis. <br />Vern Oleksowicz answered Joanne Jacobs' inquiry about GRRL. He also discussed: <br />1. Summer program. Wolfin Down Books is a state wide program for ages 3-12. <br />2. Legislative session. Budget will likely keep up with costs with a slight inflationary increase. <br />3. Director for GRRL. No one hired yet. Have been without director for one year. Candidate offered position <br />turned it down. Position will be advertised in July. <br />Meeting adjourned by unanimous agreement. <br />Respectfully submitted for G.
