ORDINANCE NO.'99-6 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SECTION 210.02 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING <br />TO MEMBERSHIP OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Elk River does hereby ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 210.02 of the City of Elk River Code of <br />Ordinances relating to residency requirements for members of the Public <br />Utilities Commission shall be amended as follows: <br /> <br />210.02 - MEMBERSHIP <br /> <br />The Public Utilities Commission shall consist of three (3) <br />members appointed by the Council. No more than one (1) member <br />may be chosen from the Council membership. Each member shall <br />serve for a term of three (3) years and until his successor is <br />appointed and qualified, except that of the members initially <br />appointed, one shall serve for a term of one (1) year, one for a <br />term of two (2) years, and one for a term of three (3) years. Ail <br />terms shall end on the last day of February, however, members <br />shall hold office until their successors have been appointed. <br />Appointments shall be made at the first regular Council meeting <br />in March. Each member of the commission shall be a resident of <br />the city of Elk River. A vacancy on the Commission shall be <br />filled by the Council for the unexpired term. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full <br />force from and after the date of its publication. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 25th day of January, 1999 by the City Council of the <br />City of Elk River. <br /> <br />Sandra A.
