Garbage cleanup shall be completed immediately following the parade. <br />2. Obtain permission from the property owner of the Elk River Theater parking lot for the parade <br />staging. <br />3. Mn/DOT specified signs shall be installed by Friday, September 18 per the attached map. The <br />"Road Closed Ahead" sign located at Jackson and 5`h Street can be installed just prior to the <br />parade event. <br />4. Police and reserve support will be provided for traffic control. <br />5. Notice of the event must be given to area churches and apartment complexes affected by the <br />parade route. <br />6. Candy may be handed out at the parade but is not allowed to be thrown from moving objects. <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Elk River High School is requesting to have a homecoming parade on Friday, September 25, 2009 <br />beginning at about 5:00 p.m. There will be approximately 35 floats in the parade. The parade will begin <br />staging in the parking lot of the Elk River Theater located on Freeport Avenue. The parade will move <br />north on Freeport to School Street. It will then head west on School Street and end in the VandenBerge <br />Middle School parking lot. <br />Financial Impact <br />The police department will be providing traffic control and homecoming football security.
