<br /> <br />City of Elk River <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date <br />Consent Se tember S, 2006 <br />Item Description <br />193rd Avenue Corridor Resolution to Commit Local Revenues to <br />Match SAFETEA-LU Funds for 193rd Avenue <br /> <br />Item Number <br />3.5.* <br /> <br />Prepared by <br />Ter Maurer, Ci <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />The 193rd Avenue Corridor extension received preliminary approval for federal funding through <br />SAFETEA-LU. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />Mn/DOT District 3 is preparing to submit their proposed State Transportation Improvement <br />Program (STIP) for 2007 - 2010. In that will be included the 193rd Avenue Corridor in the <br />amount of $996,000 of federal funds. The project will be programmed in fiscal year 2010, <br />however, it will be possible to advance the project and construct it sooner. Mn/DOT is asking <br />for the City to indicate by adoption of the attached resolution their commitment to the local <br />funds and any other funding above and beyond the federal amount. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />The [mancial impact of this project has been previously discussed and will be an ongoing issue. <br />Essentially, the City will be responsible for all project costs above the $996,000 of federal funding. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />.
