<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 4, 1935 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday, March 4, 1935. <br /> <br />Present: D.E. Davis, Pres.; Geo. Cornelius and Wm. Patenaude, Trustees; <br />Wm H. Greupner, Clerk. <br /> <br />Visitors: Donald Dare and Chas Roggatz <br /> <br />th <br />Minutes of last regular meeting and special meeting of Feb. 18 were read and approved. <br /> <br />Donald Dare and Chas Roggatz representing the Fire Dept. came before the Council stating that <br />after the last fire some of the men brought up the subject of buying another fire truck and asked <br />Mr Dare & Roggatz to attend the next Council meeting and see if the Village was in a position to <br />purchase another fire truck. Mr. Dare stated that a truck suitable for a second rig would cost <br />approximately $1350.00 After some discussion it was decided to table the matter until the Village <br />was financially better able to take care of this <br /> <br />The Clerk was requested to write the League of Municipalities and get the proper ruling, if the Fire <br />Dept could take the new fire truck and make calls outside of the Village and still be within the <br />insurance laws and also find out if the Firemen would be protected with compensation the same as <br />they are in the Village. <br /> <br />A letter was read from Mrs Longfellow, from the Library Board with a list of books that they <br />wanted to buy for the Library and asked permission to do so. A motion was made by Wm. <br />Greupner seconded by Geo. Cornelius and carried to allow the Library Board to purchase books not <br />to exceed $50.00. <br /> <br />Geo. Ludvik asked for permission to put up a Bldg in the back of his home to be used as a wood <br />shed. Building to be covered with green slate roofing. A motion was made by Wm Greupner, <br />seconded by Geo. Cornelius and carried to give Mr. Ludvik permission to build this shed in back of <br />his home. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Geo. Cornelius, seconded by Wm Greupner and carried to accept the <br />following bills and have them payed. \[sic\] <br /> <br />E.R. Power & Lt Co Lights & Power $215.36 <br />N.W. Bell Tel Co Tele rent 2.50 <br />Fred Ayer Sal\[ar\]y & Labor 22.00 <br />Fred Ayer Fire at Parkers 13.00 <br />Fred Ayer Dues 3.00 <br />Star News Village card 10.40 <br />Chas M. Nelson Tele calls 1.50 <br />Muddelstadt Bros. Repairs 3.17 <br /> <br />
