<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION'S MEETING <br />HELD AT THE COUNTY COMMISSIONER'S ROOM <br />APRIL 27, 1983 <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Hinkle, Counci1members Gunkel, Schuldt, and Engstrom <br /> <br />Members Absent: Counci1member Duitsman <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and introduced Mr. Ty Bischoff, Chief <br />Assessor for Sherburne County. <br /> <br />Mr. Ty Bischoff, explained that the purpose of the Board of Equalization Meeting is <br />to review the 1983 assessed value of property for property taxes payable in 1984. <br />Mr. Bischoff further indicated that should any person present have questions or <br />problems with their 1983 property tax, that would have to be addressed through <br />the abatement process with the County. <br /> <br />Mr. Bischoff reviewed the property tax process, the homestead <br />increased taxes and the process of establishing market value. <br />reviewed the formula for determining taxes. COWLES PROPERTY, <br />#117-000-241205, BY $50,000 BASED ON THE LOWERING OF THE VALUE BECAUSE OF <br />THE SURROUNDING AREA. COUNCILMEMBERGUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />Daniel Trudeau, Parcel No. 115-070-020060 <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO LEAVE THE VALUE AS APPRAISED UNLESS THE APPRAISER <br />CAN GAIN ADMITTANCE TO THE PROPERTY AND REAPPRAISE IT. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT <br />SECONDED THE MOTION~ THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />Donald Johnson, Parcel No. 117-110-030130 <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO DECREASE THE VALUE OF THE PROPERTY TO $84,000, THE <br />SAME AS LAST YEAR, BASED ON THE DECREASE IN VALUATION BECAUSE OF THE SURROUNDING <br />AREA. COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />It was suggested that the Building and Zoning Administrator follow up with an <br />inspection of the area, and notification of the residents to clean up the area. <br /> <br />Mr. Walter Piwowar, Parcel No. 115-050-040016, 115-010-000220, 115-050-050000, <br />and 115-050-030090. <br /> <br />MAYOR HINKLE MOVED TO REDUCE THE COMBINED VALUE OF THE PRECEEDING FOUR PARCELS BY <br />$1,400 TO A COMBINED VALUE OF $19,000. COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br />
