Phil has received several complaints regarding the difficulty of entering onto
198th Avenue from Brentwood Lane. Currently the intersection has a stop condition at
Brentwood Lane and no stop condition on 198th Avenue. The difficulty comes from the
curvature of the road and the limited sight distance. Phil has had his crew out in the area
clearing brush to try and improve. Phil requested that I take a look at the intersection and
comment on whether I think any additional actions are necessary.

On my sight visit to the intersection I perceived that the clearing of the brush has helped the
situation but the curvature of 198th Avenue, east of Brentwood Lane makes it almost impossible
to judge whether or not it is safe to enter onto 198th Avenue from Brentwood Lane. I would
suggest that this may be a situation where a four way stop sign could be used. I do believe that
it would provide for a safer intersection. I would recommend that on 198th Avenue on the east
side of Brentwood Lane there should also be a stop sign ahead warning sign because of the
curvature of the road.

Please let me know if there is any additional information you would like from me regarding this
issue.

Sincerely,

Howard R.
