Background/Discussion The recently -adopted Parks and Recreation Master Plan recommends a comprehensive recreation facilities study to evaluate the Activity Center (55+), the Ice Arena, and Lions Park to determine if they should be renovated, replaced or consolidated into a centrally -located facility. A Request for Proposal (RFP) was drafted and advertised for a Multipurpose Community Center Feasibility Plan to describe the type, size, programs and costs to potentially construct a multi -generational, multipurpose community center to include senior activity space, a two -sheet ice arena, and meeting / activity room space for up to 400 occupants. Staff felt that JLG had a strong project team experience with their depth of experience in developing feasibility studies for multipurpose and multi -generational community centers. Following approval, a kick-off meeting will be scheduled with a task force committee to be approved by City Council. Financial Impact On November 2, 2015, the Council reviewed the draft Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) 2016-2020 for the Government Building Fund and it included $75,000 in 2016 for the recreation facility study. Since the amount recommended is $50,000, the final CIP document, which will be approved on December 21, will be lowered to reflect the updated cost. P a w E R E U 6 Y NaA f RE]
