�j <br /> Elk = - Request for Action <br /> River <br /> To Item Number <br /> Mayor and City Council 10.1 <br /> Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> Work Session June 1, 2015 Michael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director <br /> Item Description Reviewed by <br /> Houlton Farm Property Hunting Plan Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> Reviewed by <br /> Action Requested <br /> Discussion of the proposed Hunting Plan. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> One of the main efforts of the Houlton Planning Committee has been to recommend a hunting plan for <br /> the Houlton Farm Property that will fulfill the requirements associated with the funding acquisition,while <br /> being sensitive to community concerns for safety. The Committee has been meeting since January and <br /> assisted in their efforts with representatives from the MN DNR and Bob McGillivray from the Trust for <br /> Public Land. <br /> The Committee last met on May 11 and came up with a draft hunting plan for City Council to review. <br /> After City Council provides direction to the plan, the next step will be to send it to the MN DNR for <br /> their approval. Once it is approved by the DNR it will then return to City Council for final approval. <br /> Representatives from the Houlton Planning Committee will attend the work session.
