EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br /> MONDAY, JANUARY 27, 1997 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman, Councilmembers Dietz, Thompson, Farber, and <br />Holmgren <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, Cily Administrator; Peter Beck, City Attorney; Sandra <br />Thackeray, City Clerk <br /> <br />1. Call Meetin.q To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Executive Session of the Elk River City <br />Council was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Mayor Duitsman. <br /> <br />2. Police Union Neqotiations <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers reviewed the proposal that was presented to the <br />Union police employees for the 1997-98 Police Union Contract. The Council <br />discussed the rejected offer. It was noted that mediation may be the next step in <br />this negotiation process. The Council agreed with the City Administrator's <br />comments for a revised proposal. <br /> <br />MAYOR DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE CITY POSITION FOR NEGOTIATIONS AS <br />OUTLINED BY THE CITY ADMINSTRATOR. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THF <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />3.
