Representatives from TiIIer testified before the Planning Commission and. at <br />Council rrteetings and wo1•k sessions about t-he proposed. expansian. One of the major <br />points we have made was how our mining plans would be modified to accommodate Elk <br />River Landfill's prapased expansion, The purpose of this letter is to reiterate the timing of <br />our mining an the 109 acre SDA property. <br />Ulxr Current M:inin~ Plans <br />We have our hot mix asphalt plaint located an the SDA property. Presently we supply <br />aggregate materials for this plant from. our pIt north of the landfill in. Livonia. Tl-te raining <br />activity on the SDA property has been low the last five years and if the landfill does not <br />expand our activity on the SDA property will remain law. However, there are high quality <br />aggregate reserves on the SDA property which represent approximately 20 years of <br />reserves. <br />If the land:Eill does not expand, our intent wauld be to continue to mine in Livania and after <br />concluding our activities to the north, we would begin more intense mining of the SDA <br />property. The Livonia reserves represent 35 to 50 years of aggregate reserves. Assuming <br />the landfill does not expand, we would nat begin meaningful mining of the SDA property <br />until approximately 2050 (201.0 plus ~40 years).
