Learning Blocks Childcare, LLC 19280 Evans St NW Elk River, MN 55330 763-441-643 March 31.2010 To whom it may concern, We at Learning Blocks Childcare, LLC are currently at full enrollment at our existing location and are looking to expand our program to meet the needs of our clients and community. Our plan is to move our school age children into the new space allowing our center to expand by approximately 36 children. By making this move we will be capable of meeting the needs of our current families with school age children or the children that will become school age as of the fall of 2010. Without this addition we will not have the capacity to meet the needs of our soon to be school age families in addition to the families that are currently enrolled in our school age program. We are licensed for 116 children. Of these children 30 of the spaces are for school age. Our school age program is full with no openings in the near future. We have 19 families that will have children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2010. By moving our school age program to the new location within the same strip mall, will allow us to continue to provide childcare for all of our families. We would open the current school age classroom for Kindergarten and older preschool children. At our current position we will not have a preschool opening for a minimum of three years. With this move we will be capable of adding an additional preschool space for childcare and an AM and PM preschool program. On a weekly basis we are turning away three to four families looking for preschool care or class time. We would open our school age program in the new location for AM and PM preschool time on days that the school age children have school. The scope of the project will entail • conditional use permit for zoning the new location for childcare • Addition of two toilets with one new bathroom added • Addition and moving of a total of three sinks • General cleaning and painting of walls • No Ea'terior Construction is necessary Our hours of operation will be 6 AM to 6:30 PM Monday thru Friday We will be employing approximately three staff members at the new location in addition to the 21 people currently employed at our current location.
