Karen Geissler 58 NW 6~ St. Elk River, Mn. 55330 Aug. 16, 1995 T0: City of Elk River, Planning Commission At the present time, I am doing reupholstery on a limited basis as a hobby. I intend to, if approved, work at this on a full- time basis as a job in my home at 58 NW 6z St. in Elk River. Mainly I will be doing residential reupholstery, some RV cushions, some boat seats and occasionally commercial reupholstery. The business will be run out of my basement. RV's and boats will not be left at my home, since the cushions and/or seats can be removed. Machinery which will be used in my business are an industrial sew- . ing machine, an air compressor, a staple gun, and a circular saw. Most of the time Z will be using the sewing machine and the electric .staple gun. The compressor will be used only occas- sionally if another employee is hired and it will be used as a back up for the electric staple gun. The saw is used. seldom to help replace zaeakened parts. My basement is 22'x38'. I will work out of an area in the base- ment 15'x16'. There will be no storage of pieces, other than that which I will be t~orking on and possibly one other. So there will be no need to store furniture outside my home. There will be little traffic to my home, except an occasional delivery of furniture which someone may choose to deliver. Gen- erally, I will pick up and deliver most furniture. UPS will deliver packages of fabrics and supplies perhaps once a week. I plan to operate the business by myself and probably one other part-time employee. Businessours will consist of approximately 8-5pm, Monday through Friday, with delivery days usually on Saturday. Presently, I have no plan for a sign. If however, I should decide to put one up, it would be small, no larger than 2'xl' and will be located on side by the garage.
