The Expo was attended by over 600 <br />people. <br />Direct Mailings <br />-~ <br />Staff will be sending out a mass `seed' mailing to our newsletter mailing list mid-April discussing <br />our social media sites. A second mailing will be sent out early fall to remind our key contacts that <br />we'll be exhibiting at the 2010 MNCAR Expo. <br />Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo -April 11.2010 <br />Energy City will be exhibiting at the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce Expo on Sunday, April <br />11th. Economic Development staff will be present to assist in the exhibit and hand out various <br />ED materials (newsletter, housing rehab pamphlets) and interact with business owners/public. <br />Retail Trade & Analysis (RTA) Presentation <br />Staff is working closely with the University of MN Extension Service to obtain recent data and <br />plan and prepare for a presentation of the 2008 retail trade analysis report. U of M staff anticipates <br />receiving the data within the next month. Once the data is received, staff will partner with the <br />Chamber to host an RTA workshop. Results of the report are shared with landowners, property <br />managers and brokers of Elk River with sites for target marketing. <br />Sherburne County Developer Tour -May 6, 2010 <br />For the past two years, staff has participated in the county's development roundtable. The goal is <br />to continue to build relationships between metro-area developers and Sherburne County economic <br />development professionals, County and Ciry officials. <br />This year, staff will participate in the County's 3rd roundtable, focusing on transit areas. <br />Developers will board a coach bus near the Twins stadium and arrive at the Government Center. <br />They will board a bus and tour Elk River and Big Lake respectively. There will be appetizers and <br />a reception at The Friendly Buffalo in Big Lake. After the reception, the developers will ride the <br />Northstar train back to the Twins stadium. <br />Greening the Heartland 2010 Conference- May 19-21 <br />Staff is partnering with Energy City to exhibit at the 7th Annual Greening the Heartland <br />Conference. Consisting of over 15 chapters in 12 Midwest states, the Heartland Region is the <br />largest region of the US Green Building Council (USGBC). The $375 table top exhibit includes a <br />display booth at the event with an anticipated audience of over 1,000 attendees with close <br />association with the USGBC, the premier green building association and MN Green Communities, <br />the largest green building program in MN. This gives the City opportunity to network and gain <br />high visibility and name recognition with those throughout the 12 state heartland region. <br />2010 EDAM Summer Conference <br />Chris Carlson of Sportech, has also been asked to speak at the conference regarding corporate <br />culture. The EDA and Sportech received the 2009 EDAM Business Retention and Expansion <br />award. <br />Environmental Administrator Rebecca Haug and Elk River Municipal Utilities Vance Zehringer <br />have been asked to present at the 2010 EDAM Annual Summer Conference.
