ELK RIVER, MN 55330 (763) 441 - 2956 Fax (763) 241 - 9432 To: Elk River City Council, Mayor From: Rich Czech, Arena Manager Date: July 23, 2001 Subject: Arena Bleachers Bids This morning I received one bid for the Arena Bleachers from E.F. Anderson. The bid was $58,716.00. Attached for your review is the bid information as well as the proposals for the heating system and the P.A. system. I included an alternate bid for stairs that would lead from the top of the bleachers to the rink floor, unfortunate there was no bid for this item. The stairs would provide another set of stairs for getting spectators to and fi-om the main level. There is one set of stairs existing now, during High School games they tend to get crowed. I am still optimistic that stairs could be added to the project now or at a later date if the council would like to proceed with them. The original proposal from B and D Plumbing did not take in account the electric wiring needed to operate the heating system. The electric wiring will add another $2,500.00 to the system, bringing the total for the heating system to $18,700.00. The proposal for the P.A. system is $5,841.80 and would provide sound to the new bleachers area as well as to the south end where people stand. The total package to add bleachers to the East Side of the Olympic rink is $82,717.80 plus tax. The estimate originally had the total cost of the project to be $83,700.00 With Elk River Youth Hockey and the School District contributing to the project, I recommend that the Council approves' the Bleacher Project for the Olympic rink.
