River <br /> <br />13065 0r0n0 Parkway <br />Elk River, MN 55330 <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />DAN HINOTE DAY <br />AUGUST I0, 2001 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan Hinote played for the Elk River High School hockey team from 1993-1995 and <br /> scored Elk River's first High School State Tournament goal in 1993; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, In 1995, during his senior year Dan was one of the top scorers in the State and he <br /> earned a silver medal while playing on the 17 Junior Olympic Team in Mexico; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan was a top team scorer for West Point during his freshman year; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1996 Dan was drafted in the 7th round by the Colorado Avalanche which is <br /> considered an elite N.H.L. team; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during the 1997-1998 season Dan was voted the most valuable teammate on the <br /> Oshawa Generals Junior Team in Ontario, Canada; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, from 1998-1999 while playing with the Hershey Bears, Dan scored the most points <br /> in the playoffs and was voted the most valuable player; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />during 1999-2000 Dan attended the Avalanche training camp, started the season <br />with the team playing a total of 27 games for the Avalanche and was voted to play in <br />the A.H.L. All Star game; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />during the 2000-2001 season Dan earned a spot on the Avalanche's fourth line <br />playing Center and was one of the impact players winning N.H.L.'s most honored <br />prize, the Stanley Cup. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that on August 10, Dan Hinote brought the Stanley <br /> Cup to the Elk River Arena where he started his career to share with the citizens of <br /> Elk River. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that I, Mayor Stephanie A.
